How to Write Awesome Thank You Notes

Congratulations! You're married to your dream husband, and we want to send you our heartfelt congratulations. The wedding ceremony was breathtaking, the reception fabulous, and your honeymoon redefined the word romantic.

Now that the celebration is over, it's time to take a moment and extend a "thank you" to everyone who played a role in your wedding. This includes your parents, guests, vendors, planner, wedding party, and even your grumpy boss who granted your time-off request.

For those of you who were born without the writing gene, writing good thank you notes may seem a bit daunting. All of that is understandable, of course, and might be especially true if you are looking at dozens or even hundreds of notes.

At Extraordinary Weddings, we often are called upon to help write thank you notes, and we are always glad to help. We're happy to lend our experience to you, and have compiled a quick list that will simplify this task. All you have to do, really, is include the following in your notes:

1. The name. After all, this was the biggest day of your life, and you want the thank-you note to be personal. Be certain it is addressed that way.
2. Include the gift they gave you. Wether it was the old-school mixer you've been drooling over or a monetary gift toward your honeymoon, each gift should be included in your note.
3. Why it mattered. In the end, people want to feel their contributions are appreciated, and your thank-you note should convey that. Take the time to tell them how you will be using the gift or how personal and unique it was.
4. A heartfelt thank you. Try to include a personal statement about how you appreciate the gift. If that is difficult, try adding a note about how you appreciate the person.

And that's it! If you follow these tips, you will charge through your thank-you notes and have them done in no time. Don't forget your thank your notes should arrive no more than 90 days from the date of your wedding.
